[VIDEO] 1,100 Horsepower Silverado Dominates the Drag Strip
We recently stumbled upon a video (below) of a 1,100 horsepower Silverado—we kid you not—tearing up the tracks at a drag strip. (Thanks for the tip, GM Authority!) Pickups on drag strips, though uncommon, are not unheard of. Heck, if you strap a motor to a wheelbarrow and get past inspection, you probably wouldn’t be turned away.
In the video, the driver of the Silverado claims that not only does he take this monster to the drag strip, but he also incorporates it into everyday life, like during trips to the gym. According to the driver, the Silverado is powered by a 408 stroker motor with 83-millimeter turbo, good for 1,000 – 1,100 horsepower. Although the Silverado was running at around 19 psi, the owner thinks he could get it to 24.
You can check out the video of the 1,100 horsepower Silverado below, in which the driver takes on another Silverado, as well as an Acura Integra. And, as a bonus, there’s an incredibly adorable dog bouncing around in the background during the interview with the driver.
