1956 Chevrolet 210 Takes Home Top Prize at AutoFair

AutoFair at the Charlotte Motor Speedway is a legendary collector car show that ran from September 24-27. Called the “Largest Collector Vehicle Event in the Southeast”, the AutoFair has been set up by the Hornet’s Nest Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America since 1978. This year’s winner was a bright yellow 1956 Chevrolet 210 owned by Tim Coley of Albermarle, North Carolina.
Besides the 210 in the top spot, four other Chevrolet vehicles won major prizes. A 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS owned by the McSwains of Gastonia, North Carolina was the first runner up, followed by a 1963 Chevrolet Nova owned by Cleet Drayton in second runner up. Jeff VanAuken’s 45th Anniversary Edition 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS was awarded the “Most Creative” prize, and a 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS owned by Dwight Bower drove home with the “Best Restoration By Owner” designation.
At AutoFair, 40 cars were in competition for the top prizes. The judges were all auto enthusiasts, and NASCAR announcer Mike Joy was also on hand to scrutinize the classic cars. Besides the classic car show, the event also included a flea market and several food vendors.
