Hot Wheels Chevy Camaro Concept joins Hot Rod Power Tour

The Hot Wheels 1967 Chevy Camaro Concept is to be featured in the Hot Rod Power Tour that starts June 1st. Kicking off in Arlington Texas, the organized tour is sponsored by Hot Rod Magazine, reporting as hot-rodders drive a route throughout the U.S. Starting in 1995, the Power tour is now one of the most popular automotive events each year. Usually lasting six to eight days, the Hot Rod Power Tour takes place every year in May or June.
The Chevy Camaro, manufactured since 1966, is a two-door sports car that is one of the mainstays of the Chevrolet Brand. When Hot Wheels was first introduced decades ago, one of its first cars sold was a 1967 “Custom Camaro” that remains a highly collectible and sought-after item. Now, Chevy is paying tribute by releasing a full size version of this small Hot-Wheels car.
This year’s Camaro Concept is a tribute to the Chevy Custom Camaro that was part of the original 16 Hot Wheels toys issued in 1968. Other Chevrolet cars on the Power Tour are the Chevy Corvette 427 Convertible and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible. In addition, a Chevy Silverado will act as a “Motor Medic” and will be equipped with tools and parts to help service tour cars.
