If you were lucky enough to be in Las Vegas last week for the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, you likely saw a blast from the past in the form of a customized 1969 Ford Torino.  Dubbed the 1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special, this one-of-a-kind vehicle looks like it belong s on a NASCAR track in the ‘60s, but it was made for by a customization shop called Rad Rides for a customer who wanted to drive it on the street.

“I’m ecstatic about the GPT Special. Our goal has been to create a new standard for street machines that combine the highest level of craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation with raw horsepower, superior handling, and rock solid reliability,” said Troy Trepanier, President of Rad Rides, in a press release.  “We believe we achieved those goals.”

The two-tone Tennessee Whiskey Gold and Daytona Sand exterior paint job and custom bodywork make it stand out, but what is powering this modern classic?  Trepanier put a Ford Boss 429 block engine under the hood, which is capable of generate roughly 750 horsepower.

Rad Rides’ customer will be able to drive the 1969 Ford Talladega GPT Special on the street, but he may want to find a track in order to take full advantage of that massive output.
