The Dodge Avenger SE and SXT trim levels are powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that creates 173 hp and 166 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful Avenger R/T is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 that cranks out 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

The Avenger sees EPA ratings of 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined fuel efficiency with the four-speed transmission and 20 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined with the six-speed – making it competitive in its class.
