What’s New for the 2013 Ford C-MAX Energi
The 2013 Ford C-MAX Energi is a brand-new model.
2013 Ford C-MAX Energi Exterior
Built on the same platform as the Focus; the Energi has a similar look as its rival Prius, but with a bit more height and a totally different personality. The four-door hatchback includes 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors with integrated blind-spot mirrors, fog lamps, and automatic wipers, all standard.
2013 Ford C-MAX Energi Performance
A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that creates 141 hp and 129 pound-feet of torque is paired with an electric motor powered by a 7.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Together, they produce an estimated 188 hp.
The battery pack is much larger than the standard battery pack in the Fusion hybrid, allowing the Energi to drive up to 21 miles on electric power alone.
2013 Ford C-MAX Energi Efficiency
According to the EPA, the C-MAX Energi gets a combined MPGe of 100 miles when running only on battery power. Once the battery power is used up, it gets an estimated fuel efficiency of 44 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 43 mpg combined – making the Energi perfect for commuting, road-tripping and getting around town.
2013 Ford C-MAX Energi Interior
The C-MAX Energi interior is much like its Ford siblings, the Escape and the Focus, with upgraded materials and a well-designed dash. The Energi’s front seats have extra supportive bolstering which make the ride feel sportier than you may expect.
The battery pack is stored below the floor of the cargo area, reducing overall storage capacity. With 19.2 cubic feet for storage behind the rear seats, you’ll want to make sure hauling around cargo is not your top priority.
2013 Ford C-MAX Energi Safety
Standard safety features include anti-lock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, and a driver knee airbag, 911Assist, and MyKey. You can also opt for a rearview camera and parking sensors.
