What’s New for the 2013 Ford Mustang

The 2013 Ford Mustang sees an updated exterior, available Recaro sport seats, a new performance-oriented display, and the automatic transmission now comes with manual shift control. The GT’s V8 has also seen a bit of an upgrade, and is slightly more powerful this year.

2013 Ford Mustang Exterior

The Ford Mustang’s iconic look received a facelift for the 2013 model year, making one of the world’s most recognized muscle cars even more stunning. This year, we see standard xenon headlights, a new grille, updated styling to the front and rear fascias (including new tail lights), and practical hood vents.

2013 Ford Mustang Performance

Performance may as well be the Mustang’s middle name, and the 2013 holds true to its rich history of being an over-achiever. The Mustang boasts a 3.7-liter V6, which produces 305 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. If that doesn’t do it for you, step it up to the Mustang GT – the 5-liter V8 produces 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque.

2013 Ford Mustang Efficiency

The Mustang V6 gets an EPA-estimated 23 mpg combined fuel economy, while the more powerful GT gets an estimated 20 mpg combined fuel economy.

The Mustang comes with the option to include Sync technology, which provides all of the modern conveniences we’ve come to expect in a car; Bluetooth, voice recognition, Sirius satellite radio, and more.

The small interior is ideal for two adults, and you might be able to comfortably sit two kids in the back. The Mustang is designed to fit four adults, but we don’t recommend it for long hauls.

2013 Ford Mustang Safety

Antilock disk brakes, front-seat side airbags and traction and stability control are safety features included in every model. Manual transmission models come standard with a hill-start assist. Also standard is Ford’s MyKey system, which allows speed and audio volume limits to be set for young drivers.
The 2013 Mustang earned an overall four-star safety rating in government crash tests.
