Ford F-150: 2013 Ford US SalesFord once again has ended the year on a high note. In fact, 2013 Ford US sales have confirmed that the American automaker was the best-selling automotive brand in the United States, with a lead of 396,041 vehicles over its closest competitor, Toyota. And the best part? That success was garnered from Ford vehicles all across the board.

“The great news is that we are not overly reliant on any one segment – we’re seeing double-digit sales growth in cars, trucks and utilities,” said John Felice, who is the company’s vice president of U.S. marketing, sales, and service. “The Ford brand has had more retail share growth than any other brand in the country, with our most significant gains coming from import-dominated coastal markets. With 16 launches next year, we’re looking to keep our sales momentum going.”

According to the automaker, 2013 Ford US sales rocketed to almost 2.5 million, an 11 percent increase over 2012 sales and the company’s highest achievement in six years (the pre-recession period). Specifically, Ford moved 763,402 F-Series pickup trucks in 2013 (18 percent more than in 2012), officially making it America’s best-selling truck for 37 years running and the country’s best-selling vehicle overall for the last 32.

The Fusion sedan, Fiesta subcompact, and Escape SUV also had record-setting sales for 2013. Ford hopes (and plans) to stay on top in 2014.
