The 2013 GMC Acadia

What’s New for the 2013 GMC Acadia

For the 2013 model year, the GMC Acadia received revised front and rear styling, improved interior quality, and extra equipment.

2013 GMC Acadia Exterior

The 2013 GMC Acadia embraces simplicity. It doesn’t go overboard with unnecessary additions, instead relying on its purposeful, wide stance to exude a sense of power. The front and rear look almost completely redesigned from previous models thanks to the bolder grille, new LED running lamps, and rear glass that wraps around the back. A rear spoiler helps reduce aerodynamic lag without bringing too much attention to itself, and chrome exhaust tips and roof-rail accents quietly help the Acadia stand out.

2013 GMC Acadia Performance

The 2013 GMC Acadia comes with only one choice of engine, though it performs well enough that owners are unlikely to wish for more. Motivating the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission is a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive optional. Thanks to variable valve timing and direct fuel injection, the engine delivers better responsiveness and more power. Maximum tow capacity is rated at 5,200 pounds.

2013 GMC Acadia Efficiency

Variable valve timing and direct fuel injection also help the 2013 GMC Acadia to achieve excellent fuel economy for a vehicle of its size. Owners can expect 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined with the standard front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive will get 16/23/18.

2013 GMC Acadia Interior

The 2013 GMC Acadia features better rear visibility compared to previous models thanks to the new wraparound rear windows. The overall interior is attractive thanks to good material quality and padded soft-touch surfaces. While front- and second-row occupants enjoy abundant head- and legroom, third-row seats are better suited to children and smaller adults. Cargo capacity is impressive even with the third-row seats in place.

2013 GMC Acadia Safety

The 2013 GMC Acadia boasts an overall five-star safety score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front seat side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags for all three rows, as well as the GM OnStar service suite.
