What’s New for the 2013 GMC Sierra HD

For 2013, owners have the option to run either compressed or natural gas with the new bi-fuel-compatible 6.0-liter V8.

The 2013 GMC Sierra HD is offered in regular cab, extended cab or crew cab body style. The regular cab is available only with an eight-foot long bed, while the extended and crew cabs can also come in the standard 6.5 foot bed length. Trim levels start at with the base Work Truck and climb to the SLE, SLT and luxury Denali at the top.

2013 GMC Sierra HD Performance

The Sierra HD comes standard with a 6.0-liter V8 engine that produces 360 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. New for 2013 is the bi-fuel option which allows the truck to run on either gasoline or compressed natural gas. When operating with compressed natural gas, performance takes a hit and power drops to 301 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque.

GMC notes that the Sierra HD gets a maximum of 680n miles on a single fill up, keep in mind that’s likely highway driving with an empty truck.

As is expected, the Work Truck has the most basic interior, designed to get the job done. Featuring vinyl seats, rubber floor covering, and basic technology. The SLE steps it up a notch with cloth seats and carpeting, and both models come standard with a three-seat front bench. Opting for front bucket seats will add a center console.

2014 2013 GMC Sierra HD Safety

The 2013 GMC Sierra HD comes standard with antilock disc brakes, hill-start control, stability control, and trailer sway control. Front side and side curtain airbags are optional along with power-adjustable pedals and rear parking sensors (except on the Denali where these features come standard). A rearview camera is also available for all models.
