What’s New for the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe has been redesigned for model year 2013, to include both a five passenger sport version and a seven passenger long wheelbase model.

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Exterior

The 2013 Santa Fe has a new look, it’s exterior now matching Hyundai’s ‘fluid’ curvy design structure. Standard features on the base sport model include 17-inch alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler. The equipment package offers automatic headlights, fog lights, heated mirrors, and roof rack rails.

The seven-passenger Santa Fe exterior is mostly the same, but includes 18-inch wheels, fog lights, and a longer wheelbase.

The Hyundai Santa Fe Sport base model is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine which produces 190 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque.

The seven-passenger models get a some extra power, fueled by a 3.3 liter V6 which produces 290 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel economy estimates are respectable for a crossover SUV, with the Sport trim receiving 24 mpg combined for the FWD and 22 mpg for the AWD. The larger seven-passenger Santa Fe gets an estimated 21 mpg with FWD and 20 mpg with AWD.

The Santa Fe comes with an incredibly well-designed cockpit and feature-packed interior. Controls are well placed and easy to read and the materials used create a luxurious feel. Head and leg room are plentiful, and most adults will fit comfortably in the front or back seats.

Important in any SUV is the ability and space to carry cargo – and the Santa Fe does not disappoint. When all seats are folded down in the five-passenger Sport, you get 71.5 cubic feet of cargo room and an impressive 80 cubic feet in the larger seven-passenger Santa Fe.
