2013 Kia Optima Overview

The 2013 Kia Optima

What’s New for the 2013 Kia Optima

2013 brings some great new options for the Kia Optima. The brand-new Limited trim level debuts this year, while the EX Turbo trim has been discontinued. The Optima Hybrid is now offered in two trim levels, and offers even better EPA ratings.

2013 Kia Optima Exterior

The Kia Optima is a ridiculously handsome family car. The sleek body turns heads at every corner, and most people are surprised to find that this is a Kia. With many features that make the Optima appear to be nothing less than a luxury vehicle, we’d say this is a top pick among mid-size sedans.
The Optima comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels and fog lamps, and optional additions include features such as a panoramic sunroof and rearview camera.

2013 Kia Optima Performance

The Optima EX and LX trim levels come standard with a 2.4-liter four cylinder engine that produces 200 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. The SX is slightly more powerful with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder which produces 274 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.

2013 Kia Optima Efficiency

This is one fuel-efficient family car. The EPA estimated fuel economy is 28 mpg combined city and highway for the EX and LX and 26 mpg for the SX.
The available Hybrid models are an entirely different story, earning an impressive 38 mpg combined for the LX model.

2013 Kia Optima Interior

The interior is just as impressive as the exterior, coming with plenty of standard features. Cruise control, Bluetooth, and an auxiliary jack and USB port come standard in every model. Beyond that, there are plenty of upgrade options and packages available, so you can add front and rear seat heaters, front seat cooling, panoramic sunroof, a rearview camera, and much, much more.

2013 Kia Optima Safety

Standard safety features include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, traction and stability control, side airbags and side curtain airbags.
In government crash tests, the Optima earns the highest rating of five stars, making this a car you can feel good about putting your family in!
