Just as the crossover SUV’s name suggests, the Sportage is a fun ride perfectly balancing capability with style. Its sleek styling and aerodynamic design make the Sportage one of the most appealing options in its class.

Step-up the curb appeal with the Sportage LX, which adds 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, rear privacy glass and keyless entry.

As far as exterior features go, the Sportage EX trim level will give you the most bang for your buck. Featuring 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, and foglights, the top-level trim adds some sassiness to the head-turning Sportage.

The base, LX and EX models come standard with a 2.4-liter that cranks out 176 hp and 168 lb-ft of torque. All trim levels (except the base) come with a six-speed automatic transmission with a manual-shift feature. Front-wheel drive is standard although all-wheel drive is offered as an option on the LX and EX.

The EPA estimates fuel economy to be 21 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined for an automatic transmission with front-wheel drive; while an all-wheel drive Sportage gets 20 mpg city, 27, mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined.

2013 Kia SportageThe interior is as handsome as the exterior is sporty. Featuring quality materials, textured plastic, and soft padding, the cabin feels welcoming and comfortable. The Sportage features plenty of leg and head room, and a decent cargo area.

The base model comes with plenty of features to keep you connected including Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity along with a four-speaker sound system with satellite radio, a CD player, an auxiliary audio input jack and an iPod/USB audio interface.

Antilock disc brakes, traction control and stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, and hill descent and hill start control are standard features on all Kia Sportage models.

In the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, the Sportage received the highest overall rating of “Good”.
