2013 Subaru BRZ

2013 Subaru BRZ Exterior

Gone is the typical rugged, outdoorsy styling of the Subaru lineup. The 2013 BRZ is bringing something completely unique to the brand’s lineup—a large amount of sex appeal. Built as part of a partnership between Toyota and Scion, the 2013 BRZ combines a sleek body with beautifully curved lines to create one coupe that practically screams, “Drive me!”

2013 Subaru BRZ Performance

The 2013 BRZ produces 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque with a 2.0-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder “boxer” engine. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard with the sports coupe, with an optional six-speed automatic with steering wheel shift paddles and a rev-matched downshift.

For manual BRZs, fuel economy is rated at 25 mpg combined, while the automatic are rated an outstanding 28 combined.

2013 Subaru BRZ Interior

Though some might see the cabin design of the BRZ as plain, it reflect the partnership of Toyota and Scion, incorporating various features from both of the two brands in a simple, classy style. High-tech features are abundant though, including navigation, HD radio, and Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity. Each of these features are controlled with a standard touchscreen. Legroom is barely there in the back seat, but the front seats make up for this space deficiency with comfortable, yet supportive seats.

2013 Subaru BRZ Safety

In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash testing, the BRZ was rated the organization’s highest score of “Good” in the frontal-offset, side, and roof strength tests. Antilock brakes, traction and stability control, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags are all standard safety features for the sports car.
