What’s New for the 2014 BMW 6 Series

The 2014 BMW 6 Series now comes with an available all-wheel- drive on the 640i coupe and convertible. Also, an M Sport Edition package is now available.

2014 BMW 6 Series Performance

A turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 powers the 2014 BMW 640i, producing 315 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, along with rear-wheel-drive, while the xDrive all-wheel-drive is optional.

For the BMW 650i, a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 is the powertrain, churning out 445 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. This model also comes with a standard eight-speed automatic and rear- or all-wheel-drive.

2014 BMW 6 Series Efficiency

With an automatic stop-start system that shuts down the engine when stopped, the 3.0-liter engine receives an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined for the coupe and 24 combined for the convertible. The BMW 650i is rated at 20 mpg combined for both the rear-wheel-drive coupe and convertible, while the all-wheel-drive models are listed at 19 combined.

High-quality materials come together with a cockpit-style interior design with a prominent center console and a straightforward iDrive electronics interface. The iDrive system presents crisp graphics and quick processing, keeping the driver focused on driving. There isn’t much room in the rear seat, though adult passengers can be accommodated.

Antilock brakes with advanced standby and drying features, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, front knee airbags, and active head restraints are all standard safety features for the 2014 BMW 6 Series, along with the BMW Assist emergency communications system and Remote Services, which provide many driver assistance programs, such as roadside assistance and remote door unlocking. Optional safety technology includes lane-departure, blind-spot warning systems, side- and surround-view cameras, and a night vision display.
