2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 Are 5-star Safety Winners
It was announced Thursday that both the regular and double cab versions of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 earned the top 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in its New Car Assessment Program. It was previously confirmed that crew cab models of the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 are 5-star safety rating-worthy, and the additional testing means that every available model of both GM trucks are deemed among the safest vehicles on the road.
As the 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 are 5-star safety-rated in every configuration, they become the first pickup trucks to receive the NHTSA’s top score since more strenuous testing requirements were implemented for 2011 model year vehicles.
