As part of Chrysler Group LLC’s showing at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, which includes 20 customized vehicles, the automaker announced that it intends to resurrect the “shaker scoop” hood for the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker.

The limited edition Challenger will be something of a callback to the Challengers of the 1970s, thanks to the shaker scoop adorning the hood.  The scoop is designed to move in accordance to the vehicle’s vibrations and pull in cold air for the Challenger’s V8 HEMI engine.

The Shaker Challenger will also come replete with a Super Track Pak that will include a new steering rack, brake linings, shocks, and 20” Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car tires.  Other interior and exterior enhancements bring the price of the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker to $36,995, which is a mere $2,500 increase over the cost of a Challenger R/T Classic.

Chrysler also announced that it will be offering a limited-to-100 run of Mopar Challengers, which will also feature the shaker scoop hood accoutrement.  More details about this super-limited/super-desirable pony car are to be expected as its projected March release date draws nearer.

So tell us: how badly do you want to get behind the wheel of a 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker?  If you’re anything like us, you’re already shaking with anticipation.
