This week at the Chicago Auto Show, Dodge will unveil the all-new 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad. This baby, which debuts after the Journey’s best sales year ever, receives a bunch of unique updates and tweaks: new front and rear fascias, 19-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels, Platinum Chrome side sills, an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, Liquid Graphite appliqués, and a new leather seat design, among several others (detailed below).

“The Journey has always been Dodge’s Swiss Army knife in the CUV segment, and with the new Journey Crossroad, we are expanding that flexibility by now offering three different exterior appearances,” explained Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “The Journey Crossroad’s rugged styling gives it a tough presence on the road; the available all-wheel drive system gives it the capability to back it up in a variety of bad weather driving conditions.”

The Crossroad trim will sit nicely between the SXT and Limited models and will be available this spring.

These include Bright Silver Metallic, Granite Crystal Metallic, Copperhead Pearl, Fathom Blue Pearl, Redline Red 2-Coat Pearl, Pearl White Tri-Coat, White, and Pitch Black. In addition to the features listed above, the Journey Crossroad exterior will include a Gloss Black grille, fog lamp surrounds, Platinum Chrome roof rails, black headlamp bezels, Gloss Black tail lamp bezels, and, of course, the “Crossroad” badge slapped on the tailgate.

2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad Performance

The Crossroad model is powered by a standard 2.4-liter 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder engine, which lays down 173 hp and 166 lb-ft of torque. This powerhouse is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

Drivers can also opt for the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 (which made it to Ward’s “10 Best Engines” in the last two years). This baby generates 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

An all-wheel drive system is available on the Journey Crossroad.

The steering wheel trim, center console, door pulls, gauge cluster, and instrument panel all receive a Liquid Graphite finish. Also standard are a power front seat and a front passenger fold-flat seat that features a hidden storage-bin under the seat cushion.

Drivers will also make use of power heated and foldaway mirrors, illuminated cup holders, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, and Keyless Enter ‘n Go with push-button start.
