2014 Fiat 500L Overview

2014 Fiat 500L Exterior

The 2014 Fiat 500L is Europe-upgraded, with the typical European styling the car industry has come to associate with the Fiat brand combined with a larger body that many American’s prefer. A rounded nose and funky-looking front façade give the 500L a lot of spunk, while the four-doors elongate the original 500s short body, providing plenty of space for storage. The expansive glass surrounding the cabin allows for the outside to come in, adding a sleek feel to the silhouette that makes it feel a lot more grown up. The Fiat 500L comes in four trims: Pop, Easy, Trekking, and Lounge.

2014 Fiat 500L Performance

A turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine powers the 2014 500L, churning out 160 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Every Fiat 500L comes with front-wheel-drive, along with a standard six-speed manual transmission, though this isn’t the standard transmission for the top-trim level. There is also an available six-speed automated manual transmission. With this powertrain, the 500L is capable of reaching 60 in 9.1 seconds, a competitive performance for its class.

2014 Fiat 500L Efficiency

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 1.4-liter with the manual transmission is 28 mpg combined, while the available automated manual is rated at 27 mpg combined.

2014 Fiat 500L Interior

A modern dual-gauge instrument cluster and contemporary dashboard design come together to complete the light-filled interior. The large glass area allows for an optimal field of vision, while the roominess both in the front and rear makes it perfect for any-sized passenger, from a grown adult to a child. Add the ability to drop the rear seat backs, and there’s cargo room galore in the trunk, surpassing that of its competitors.

2014 Fiat 500L Safety

Standard safety features for the 2014 Fiat 500L include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, a driver-side knee airbag, and active head restraints for front-seat occupants. The no-cost Premier package, which is available on the Easy, Trekking, and Lounge models, also offers a rearview camera and rear parking sensors.
