In government crash tests, the Fusion Hybrid received five out of five stars for overall crash protection, while the non-hybrid, but very similar Fusion received the highest possible rating of “Good” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, showing that the Fusion Hybrid is likely to receive the same marks. Standard safety equipment for the hybrid sedan include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front seat side airbags, front knee airbags, and side curtain airbags.
