Two new direct-injected engines power the 2014 Koup. The first is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 173 horsepower, while the Koup SX offers a significant jump in power with a turbocharged 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder that churns out 201 horsepower. Continuously variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust sides allows for a non-fussy engine that makes the Koup a great car to drive.

The 2.0-liter engine boasts around 25 city and 34 highway EPA-estimated mpg, while the turbocharged 1.6-liter gets 22 city and 30 highway mpg.
