2014 Lexus RX Hybrid Exterior

The 2014 Lexus RX Hybrid is an interesting mix of practical and elegant with a blunt front end and sweeping lines coming together in an unexpected way, reflecting the brand’s innovative approach to design. A new spindle grille makes the crossover more welcoming, while its power rear door opens with the touch of a button, making access to the trunk simple and easy.

2014 Lexus RX Hybrid Performance

To power the 2014 RX Hybrid, Lexus has combined a 3.5-liter gasoline V6 engine with electric motors. The front-wheel-drive models have two motors, one propelling the crossover while the other is a starter-generator. All-wheel-drive models come with a third electric motor to drive the rear wheels. No matter the number of motors, the hybrid powertrain gets 295 horsepower.

2014 Lexus RX Hybrid Efficiency

It can be difficult finding a crossover SUV with decent gas mileage, but the Lexus RX Hybrid makes it easy with EPA-estimated 30 m pg combined for front-wheel drive. All-wheel-drive comes away with a 29 mpg combined.

2014 Lexus RX Hybrid Interior

Exceptional materials, upscale accents and cutting-edge technology come together to make the interior of the hybrid crossover feel extremely fancy. Authentic wood trim and high-end leather add a touch of opulence to the cabin, while the roomy back seat makes sure everyone is comfortable, no matter the length of the drive. The Display Audio or Navigation packages add the Lexus Remote Touch system, which allows the user to move among icons on a large centrally located screen.

2014 Lexus RX Hybrid Safety

According to government crash test ratings, the RX Hybrid received four out of five stars for overall crash protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found the hybrid crossover to be their highest possible rating of “Good” in the moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact, and roof-strength crash tests. Standard features, such as antilock brakes and airbags, come together with the Safety Connect emergency communications system, which has automatic collision notification, an emergency assist button, and stolen vehicle location services.
