2014 Lincoln Sales

The 2015 MKC was a big part of Lincoln’s 2014 sales success

Full-year sales totals for the Lincoln Motor Company reveal that 2014 was the brand’s most lucrative since 2008. Sales totaled 94,474 units for Lincoln, a 15.6% improvement over 2013’s total of 81,694 units that could very well indicate that Lincoln’s plans to triple global sales by 2020 are very realistic indeed.

A great deal of Lincoln’s success in 2014 can be attributed to a smooth launch for the 2015 MKC. Since hitting the market in the last week of May, the MKC has been on an upward trajectory that culminated in it becoming Lincoln’s best-selling model and achieving a best-ever sales months in the final two months of the year, respectively. All told, the MKC tallied 13,077 sales in 2014.

The MKZ, which is the focus of a newly-launched round of commercials starring Academy Award-winner, Matthew McConaughey, ended the year with 34,009 sales—a 5.1% year-over-year increase. The MKX came out just slightly ahead of its 2013 mark with 23,995 units sold (compared to 23,913 in 2013), and the flight of the new 2015 Navigator bolstered Lincoln’s full-size SUV to a 21.1% increase overall with 10,433 units sold in 2014.
