2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Overview

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Exterior

After the CLA-class was introduced on the auto show circuit as the Concept Style Coupe, there was so much buzz that Mercedes couldn’t help but build the popular car. Athletic lines create an extremely aerodynamic profile that makes sure the only thing the CLA-class is catching is people’s attention, allowing it to have the lowest amount of drag not only in its entire class, but in the entire industry.

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Performance

For the 2014 CLA250, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. A standard seven-speed automated manual transmission drives the power to the front-wheels, but all-wheel-drive is an option on the CLA250 4Matic. The CLA45 AMG on the other hand has an upgraded, more powerful version of the 2.0-liter that features a twin-scroll turbocharger and fortified internal components. This allows the CLA45 AMG powertrain to produce a jaw-dropping 355 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, along with a seven-speed transmission.

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Efficiency

The CLA250’s 2.0-liter will get you an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, while the more powerful 2.0-liter has a bit less mpg with 23 city/31 highway.

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Interior

As the cheapest Mercedes on the market, you might expect to see a lower quality interior—this is where you’d be wrong. The CLA-class cabin has high quality materials and a clean, simplistic design that is typical of the brand. Big analog gauges, a beautiful center stack design, and a smooth finish make the cabin a classy one, while the various trim levels allow you to add the cabin aesthetic that fits you best. There isn’t a great amount of room in the back seat, but the lack of size there is made up for with a large trunk that can store whatever you might need.

2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Safety

Standard safety features include stability and traction control, antilock brakes, a driver knee airbag, front seat side thorax airbags, front seat side pelvic airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags. The 2014 CLA-Class also comes standard with the Mercedes-Benz mbrace2™ emergency telematics system, Collision Prevention Assist, and ATTENTION ASSIST®.
