For the 2014 model year, all CLS-Class sedans have a standard stop-start system to lower fuel consumption, while the CLS63 AMG comes standard with Mercedes’ 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive. The CLS63 will also get a boost in horsepower, while the AMG Performance package is replaced with a new S-Model version.

Depending on the model you choose, your engine will differ greatly. The 2014 CLS550 is powered with a twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 that produces 402 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque with a standard seven-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive. The CLS550 4MATIC® has the same engine with all-wheel-drive.

The CLS63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 that churns out an impressive 550 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. A specialized seven-speed automatic transmission helps send power to all four wheels. If you want even more power, the CLS63 AMG S-Model gets an even more powerful 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

The CLS550 gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 21 mpg combined for the rear-drive model, while the 4MATIC® gets 20 mpg combined. The CLS63 has a fuel economy of 18 mpg combined.

Luxury is the name of the game when it comes to the interior of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class with beautifully crafted materials and an elegant design. The layout of controls is simple, yet efficient, creating an opulent feel within the cabin. Space isn’t exactly abundant in the rear seat, but the trunk space makes up for what the rear seat is lacking.

Antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front knee airbags, front side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, and the Mercedes-Benz mbrace2™ telematics system are all standard safety features on the 2014 CLS-Class. ATTENTION ASSIST®, which monitors driver alertness, and PreSafe, which anticipates a crash, are also standard. Optional features include infrared night-view sensors and rearview parking sensors.
