For the 2014 model year, the ML350 will now be able to be outfitted with the ML550’s AMG styling cues, thanks to a new Sport package. Also, all models will have a split-screen dashboard display that can project different images to the driver and passenger.

With four different models in the M-Class , every driver has four drivetrain options to choose from. For the ML350, a 3.5-liter V6 engine is the power source, producing 302 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a seven-speed automatic with shift paddles with a choice between the standard rear-wheel-drive or the extra-cost all-wheel-drive option.
The ML350 Bluetec is powered by a diesel-powered 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces 240 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. This drivetrain comes with a standard all-wheel-drive system. A 4.7-liter turbocharged V8 powers the ML550, boasting 402 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, while the ML63 AMG churns out an outstanding 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque with a 5.5-liter turbo V8.

EPA-estimated fuel economy varies depending on the powertrain. For the 3.5-liter, you can expect to get 20 mpg combined with the rear-drive and 19 combined with AWD. The diesel engine gets an impressive 23 mpg combined, while the two most powerful engines get a lot less with the 4.7-liter rated at 16 mpg combined and the 5.5-liter rated at 15 mpg combined.

Understated luxury is the best description for the interior of the M-Class with high-quality materials coming together with the standard knob-based COMAND interface to create comfortable luxury. According to the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety, the M-Class is worthy of their highest rating of “Good” in the moderate-overlap front offset, small-overlap frontal offset, side-impact and roof strength test. Antilock brakes, traction and stability control, PreSafe (which can identify an imminent crash and automatically take measures to secure occupants), hill-start assist and hill-descent control, active front head restraints, a collision warning system, front and rear side airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver knee airbag are all standard safety features for all 2014 Mercedes-Benz M-Class models. This class also comes with mbrace2 communications system, which includes automatic collision notification and an SOS button, among many other safety assistance features.
