2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Overview
2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Exterior
Cars don’t get much more stylish or head-turning than the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. The sculpted lines and bold front fascia give on-lookers an idea of just how fast (and expensive) this roadster is, and standard 18-inch wheel and LED running lights only bolster curb appeal.
2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Performance
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class’s base 4.6-liter turbocharged V8 is one that most vehicles can’t match with their top-end offering, as it generates 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, but it only gets better from there. The turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 makes 530 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, and the almost gaudy 6.0-liter turbocharged V12 pumps out an immense 621 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, propelling the SL-Class from 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Efficiency
Fuel economy is never the emphasis of a vehicle that enters at 400-plus horsepower, but each 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class engine breaks the 20 mpg mark. The base V8 returns 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, the 5.5-liter returns 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, and the massive V12 returns 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.
2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Interior
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class’s interior sets the standard for all other luxury roadsters in terms of comfort, premium materials, and advanced features, which includes a SplitView display that will allow that driver and the passenger to see completely different images on one screen, a Night View infrared camera, and just about every other conceivable automotive feature.
2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Safety
Standard safety features on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class include traction and stability control, antilock brakes, a comprehensive suite of airbags, the PreSafe accident preparation system, and Attention Assist to keep the driver awake.
