2014 Mercedes C-Class: Next Installment of MB’s Best-Seller
It may surprise you to learn that since its launch in 2007, the C-Class has been Mercedes-Benz’s best-selling model series with more than 2.4 million units delivered in that timeframe. The German luxury automaker is hoping to build on that success as it unveils the all-new 2014 Mercedes C-Class.
In the United States, the 2014 C-Class will launch with two models: the C300 4MATIC and the C400 4MATIC. The C300 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injected four-cylinder engine that generates 235 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Power is bolstered in the C400 by a 3.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injected V6 that will pump out 329 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.
“The new C-Class embodies Mercedes-Benz’s claim ‘the best or nothing’ in uncompromising style,” said Ola Källenius, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Mercedes-Benz, in a press release. “This is immediately apparent when encountering our new Saloon for the first time, as it creates the impression that one is sitting in a higher class of automobile. I am sure that our customers will be delighted by the high-class appeal and agility of the new C-Class.”
Do you think the 2014 Mercedes C-Class will continue to be the nameplate’s best-selling model class?
