2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Recall Alert: Yeah, They Catch Fire
Porsche today issued a statement regarding recent rumors that their cars catch fire, because they were apparently not okay with Chevy hogging the spotlight. While Autoblog cites a count of five total Porsches catching fire, the Porsche press release only mentions two. (Math is hard, Porsche.) According to the release, the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 recall comes after two European models experienced engine damage and subsequent fires, which brings a whole new element to the chosen name of 911 for the cars. As of yet, no one has been killed or injured as a result of this malfunction, but that doesn’t change the fact that, you know, cars are catching fire.
Because Porsche is awesome, the brand has volunteered to swing by your house if you are lucky (and seemingly unlucky) enough to own one of these bad boys, and take it to a nearby Porsche Centre immediately. I can only hope they’ll leave behind a 911 Targa 4 as a loaner while they work on the GT3s.
