For half a century, the Porsche 911 has reigned as one of the world’s most iconic sports cars, and a lot of that is thanks to the its sleek, aggressive styling. Although you would be hard-pressed to find two identical Porsche 911s due a plethora of packages, the base 2014 Porsche 911 boasts standard 19-inch alloy wheels for an unparalleled athletic stance.

There is no shortage of engine options in the 2014 Porsche 911. The base Carrera models are powered by a 3.4-liter horizontally opposed flat-six that produces 350 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque, and it’s only up from there. The 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8-liter engine that generates 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. The Porsche 911 Turbo turbocharged that 3.8-liter engine to make 520 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque, and the Turbo S boost power to 560 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Despite supercar performance, the 2014 Porsche 911 still returns respectable fuel economy numbers. The Carrera returns 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, and the Carrera S returns 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

The Porsche 911 is always at the top of its class in terms of interior luxury, and 2014 is no exception. According to Edmunds.com, “today’s 911 is downright luxurious, with top-notch leather upholstery and plastic panels that are convincingly grained to match. Trim elements in aluminum and carbon fiber are equally praiseworthy.”

Standard safety features on the 2014 Porsche 911 include stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, and a comprehensive suite of airbags. Parking sensors, adaptive headlights, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control are also available.
