What’s New for the 2014 Ram HD

For 2014, Ram has upgraded the powertrain offerings in its Heavy Duty pickups, which is highlighted by the arrival of the all-new 6.4-liter V8 in the 2014 Ram HD.

2014 Ram HD Exterior

Ram Heavy Duty (HD) trucks are meant for drivers that have a job to do, and their rugged exteriors echo that sentiment. Available in the 2500 or 3500 trim levels, Ram’s 2014 HD trucks start with standard 17-inch steel wheels and an aggressively-styled bumper to heighten their imposing on-road presence.

2014 Ram HD Performance

The standard engine throughout the 2014 Ram HD lineup is a 5.7-liter V8 that generates 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The two optional engines are the all-new 6.4-liter V8 that produces 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque and a Cummins 6.7-liter turbodiesel V6 that pumps out 350 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque. The 2014 Ram HD can tow up to 17,970 pounds when properly equipped.

Premium upholstery, soft-touch materials, and accent stitching inside the 2014 Ram HD has created was Edmunds.com calls “nicest interior in the heavy-duty full-size pickup kingdom.” A slew of available features helped the 2014 Ram HD to earn that recognition as well, including Bluetooth connectivity, touchscreen audio interface, WiFi, smartphone app integration, and navigation.

Standard safety features on the 2014 Ram HD include traction and stability control, antilock disc brakes, and front seat and side airbags. A rearview camera is also available.
