2014 Ram Heavy Duty Black packageLast week, Chrysler Group announced that the Ram Black package would be extended to the Heavy Duty pickup line (2500 and 3500 SRW). The Black Express package originally debuted on the Ram 1500 and was met with an overwhelmingly positive response. The 2014 Ram Heavy Duty Black package looks to build on that success.

The Ram Black Appearance Group epitomizes the “combination of brute force and strength” and features the best powertrains in the pickup segment, with best-in-class power for both the gas and diesel models. The trucks also boast several features that can’t be found elsewhere in the segment, including the Cargo-view Camera, the manual transmission for the diesel, the RamBox, and a best-in-class ride courtesy of the link coil rear suspension for the 2500 and the air suspension option for both the 2500 and the 3500. Ram also calls the Heavy Duties the “baddest-looking” factory-built trucks on the market.

As one would expect, the 2014 Ram Heavy Duty Black package wears a bold, all-black exterior. Notable features for these models include black grille surrounds with black horizontal inserts that are specific to the two available trims, as well as fog lamps. Perched on 20-inch black aluminum wheels, the Black package trucks also features front and rear bumpers and head badges on the grille and tailgate that have been given the black treatment. All body-side badging has been stripped away, save for those models that are powered by a Cummins engine. The diesel badging will remain on those models.
