What’s New for the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle
For 2014, Volkswagen has introduced the Beetle R-Line to replace the Beetle Turbo, and with it comes a 10 horsepower increase in power.

2014 Volkswagen Beetle Performance
The base 2014 Volkswagen Beetle is powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, but that will be replaced later in the model year by a 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The new 2014 VW Beetle R-Line is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 210 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque.
2014 Volkswagen Beetle Efficiency
The current 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that powers the 2014 Beetle returns 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway when equipped with a manual transmission. Surprisingly, the 2014 Beetle R-Line is projected to deliver better fuel economy than the current base five-cylinder engine at 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

The interior of the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle delivers an intentionally vintage feel that is coupled with state-of-the-art automotive technology. Available technology in the 2014 Beetle includes Bluetooth connectivity, a touchscreen interface with navigation, a rearview camera, and a premium Fender sound system.

Standard safety in the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle includes stability and traction control, antilock brakes, a comprehensive suite of airbags, and the Volkswagen Car-Net telematics system, which is able to automatically notify emergency personnel in the event of a collision, stolen vehicle location, roadside assistance, and remote vehicle unlocking.
