2014 Volvo S-60 Overview

What’s New for the 2014 Volvo S60

Volvo has given the S60 a slight refresh for 2014, which includes a face-lift to provide a lowered, sleeker look, as well as interior enhancements, including a new instrument panel, new seats, and metallic accents.

2014 Volvo S60 Exterior

The 2014 Volvo S60 is an entry-level sport sedan that aims to compete with the German stalwarts of the segment, and it has the aggressive stance and bold styling necessary to do so. Standard 17-inch wheels provide an athletic stance that, along with aerodynamic and sculpted design cues, let on-lookers know that the 2014 S60 can get off the line in a hurry.

2014 Volvo S60 Performance

It’s one thing to look the part of a sport sedan, but the 2014 Volvo S60 has the performance figures to back it up. The S60’s base 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine generates 250 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, and it only gets better from there. The available 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 pumps out 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, and drivers who upgrade to the T6 R-Design trim of the 2014 Volvo S60 will see those numbers rise to 325 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.

2014 Volvo S60 Efficiency

Despite impressive power, the 2014 Volvo S60 still manages to return respectable fuel economy ratings. The base five-cylinder returns 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. The high-performing V6 is able to return 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

2014 Volvo S60 Interior

The 2014 Volvo S60’s Scandinavian-inspired wood and metallic accents are unlike anything else you will find in its class, and the laundry list of premium materials deliver the feel of a premium luxury sedan. Speaking of laundry lists, the 2014 S60 standard features includes dual-zone automatic climate control, eight-way power driver seat with driver memory, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a seven-inch display screen, and an eight-speaker sound system, among others.

2014 Volvo S60 Safety

Volvo has made a promise to eliminate all serious injuries and deaths in its vehicles by 2020, and the 2014 S60 takes a big step in that direction. Standard features include traction and stability control, a comprehensive airbag system, and City Safety, which is able to avoid rear-ending other vehicles by automatically applying the brakes at speeds under 19 mph. The 2014 Volvo S60 also offers pedestrian detection to help avoid collision with pedestrians, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and driver attention-maintaining technology.
