This sleek 2015 BMW M4 Convertible will be released this summer.

If there’s anything that we associate with the long, hot summer months, it’s a nice cruise around the bend in a high-powered convertible. If you’re already pining for the warm kiss of sunlight on your face as you cruise on toward your summer vacation destination, the 2015 BMW M4 Convertible has all of the tools you need and everything you’d expect from the Ultimate Driving Machine.

Key to the 2015 BMW M4 Convertible is the BMW M TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter inline-six that can also be found in the recently-released M4 Coupe and M3 Sedan. Mated to your choice of a 6-speed manual or 7-speed M-DCT transmission, the inline-six gives the M4 Convertible a monstrous 425 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.

As with the M3 and M4, the M4 Convertible will benefit from extensive lightweighting, boasting a 4,055 lb curb weight. Facets such as aluminum front fenders and hood and lightweight carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) drive shaft allow the 2015 model to lose about 90 pounds from the previous iteration.

Naturally, it wouldn’t be a BMW if it didn’t look like a BMW. It has the token profile provided by a long hood, long wheelbase, set-back glasshouse, and short front overhang, and the body boasts powerful lines and an aggressive, sporty face.

The 2015 BMW M4 Convertible is expected to be released this summer, just in time for some top-down driving enjoyment. It will also make its proper world debut next week at the 2014 New York Auto Show. For all of your coverage needs, stop back by The News Wheel!
