Cadillac, the world’s fastest-growing full-line luxury brand, is only getting bigger with the debut of the 2015 ATS Coupe. The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe, revealed at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), is the first compact luxury coupe produced by the brand.

“The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is a natural step in the brand’s progression, and another fun-to-drive and technologically advanced product for a new generation of drivers extending our target groups,” said Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing officer, Global Cadillac, in a press release issued Tuesday. “It is an exclusively distinctive American alternative, unique in its class, yet delivering a sporty and sophisticated driving experience rivaling the world’s best.”

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe will go on sale this summer (giving us yet another reason to pine for the warmer months ahead), and will offer drivers their choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive platform. The ATS Coupe will be powered by either a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or a stout 3.6-liter six-cylinder.

Of particular note with the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is the fact that the 2.0-liter Turbo model will be the lightest vehicle in its segment and, thanks to a nearly 50/50 weight balance and low center of gravity, one of the most nimble. Better torque—295 lb-ft to be precise—helps the ATS Coupe climb from zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds.

“More power with less weight is always a better combination for performance, and the ATS Coupe offers one of the best power-to-weight ratios in the segment, making it feel lighter, more direct and responsive,” adds David Leone, Cadillac executive chief engineer. “Engineers vetted the ATS’s performance on the track, and the Coupe benefits from that exhaustive validation – all matched with Cadillac’s trademark refinement.”

The ATS Coupe will feature the kinds of amenities one would expect from a Cadillac, including OnStar 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth phone and audio, text-to-voice, USB/AUX/SD memory card ports, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, a 5.7” three-panel instrument cluster that is fully configurable, and a full-color HUD.

2014 is only just getting started, and the announcement of the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe seems to signal more of the same success with the help of something a bit different from GM’s luxury arm. What has you the most excited about the new ATS Coupe? Leave us a comment and let us know your thoughts!
