What’s New for the 2015 Cadillac CTS Sedan?

For 2015, the Cadillac CTS goes wreathless and wears the new Cadillac crest emblem on its grille. It also gains 4G connectivity with Wi-Fi capabilities, a wireless phone charging system, and self-parking system for perpendicular parking. And, if you choose the Driver Awareness package, it includes lane-keeping assist and a lane-change alert. You may also notice the absence of a CD player.

The third-generation CTS sedan has an amazing exterior design that fully exemplifies Cadillac’s Art and Science design language. It has long sweeping lines that extend from the front to the rear. In addition to the new wreathless crest, the grille has fewer ribs. You’ll also notice new vertical LED headlamps.

2015 Cadillac CTS Sedan Performance

The base CTS sedan comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 272 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This can be had with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Moving up a step is a 3.6-liter V6 rated at 321 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. With rear-wheel drive, it comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. If you opt for all-wheel drive, you get the six-speed automatic.

At the top of the performance range is the CTS Vsport. This comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out 420 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. It is only available with rear-wheel drive and the eight-speed automatic. This engine will get you from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 170 mph.

2015 Cadillac CTS Sedan Efficiency

The turbocharged four-cylinder engine earns an EPA-estimated rating of 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive. With all-wheel drive, those numbers drop to 19/28 mpg and 22 mpg combined.

As for the 3.6-liter V6, it gets 19/28 mpg with the eight-speed automatic and 18/26 mpg with the six-speed.

The twin-turbocharged V6 with rear-wheel drive and paddle-shifters get 17/25 mpg.

Inside the CTS sedan, you’ll find an expertly crafted interior with cut-and-sew upholstery matched with wood trim. The dash is created from one single piece that blends into the center stack. There you’ll find an eight-inch touchscreen. And, depending on the trim, the gauges may be replaced with a large 12.3-inch panel. With all of this technology, the CTS cabin becomes a futuristic place.

2015 Cadillac CTS Sedan Safety

For the CTS sedan, its safety is matched to its luxury. It has earned a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has also given the CTS sedan “Good” crash test ratings for side and front moderate overlap tests.

Standard safety features include 10 airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and a one-year subscription to OnStar. Optional features include a parking assist for parallel and perpendicular spaces along with active safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic alerts, forward-collision alert, and more.
