The 2015 Cadillac Escalade

General Motors today released an up-close and personal account of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade exterior, which is, to no one’s surprise, incredibly detailed. (It’s a Cadillac—what do you expect?) Cadillac promises that while the Escalade is all-new for 2015, it still retains the unmistakable Escalade appearance it’s worn since 1999.

“The 2015 Escalade continues the theme set by the first Escalade – a vehicle differentiated from other SUVs through its artistic integration of bright work, grille textures and wheels,” said Bob Boniface, Global Cadillac director of design. “The Escalade design has a more sophisticated and integrated exterior appearance when compared to the rough-and-rugged aesthetic of standard SUVs.”

New for the 2015 Cadillac Escalade exterior is the use of Galvano chrome. “It adds a level of refinement and sophistication to the Escalade that bright chrome cannot match,” Boniface explained. Reportedly, the process of applying Galvano chrome is more complicated than regular chrome, but the exterior design team believes that it is key to setting the Escalade apart.

In addition, the body side now features more sculpture, reflecting the Escalade’s surroundings, almost like a mirror. GM says that the sculpted side surfaces make for “beautiful, liquid-like reflections.”

In addition, the 2015 Cadillac Escalade exterior features subtle updates to the headlamps and taillamps. “The detailing in the exterior lamps is extraordinary,” Boniface reported. “We have taken an established brand element and constructed them with absolute state-of-the-art technology. The result is bold, modern and pure Cadillac.”

The 2015 Escalade has already hit dealer lots, so you can check out the exterior in person at a local dealership.
