2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN0001 Fetches $1.65M for Charity

On September 27, the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN0001 was auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction for a whopping $825,000. As the proceeds benefitted Opportunity Village in Vegas, the Engelstad Family Foundation of Las Vegas decided to match the auction price, giving it a grand total of $1.65 million and marking the largest sum ever fetched for a car in the history of Barrett-Jackson.

The 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN0001 was auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas.

To its credit, Barrett-Jackson waived the bidding and consignment fees so that 100% of the proceeds would benefit the charity.

And, of course, Rick Hendrick was the one to place the bid. Anyone surprised? Bueller? Bueller?

Included in the auction package for the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN0001 is a 6.2-liter supercharger engine cover and a HEMI Orange painted base presentation block, as well as a video documentary on an iPad mini that covers the process of building the car.
