What’s New for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette?

For the standard Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, there are no significant changes from the 2014 model year. However, there is the addition of an all-new Z06 supercar model that is even more performance oriented.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Exterior

The Corvette Stingray is undeniably one of the most dramatically styled and easily recognizable vehicles on the road. With the seventh-generation Corvette, the exterior looks simultaneously high-tech and classic with a vent-and-creases design. The classic Corvette proportions with a long, low hood, steeply swept windshield, and tall rear end define the Stingray. Choose from a variety of bold colors, such as Laguna Blue, Daytona Sunrise Orange, and Torch Red to complete the look.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Performance

If there’s one thing the Corvette Stingray does well, it’s delivering a breathtaking performance. The Corvette’s LT1 6.2-liter V-8 engine delivers a minimum of 455 horsepower. This can be kicked up a few notches to 460 hp with the available performance exhaust option. With the eight-speed automatic transmission, the Stingray can reach 60 mph in as little as 3.7 seconds. There is also an available seven-speed manual transmission.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Efficiency

When someone wants to own and drive a car like a Corvette, fuel-efficiency usually isn’t a primary concern. However, as sports cars go, the Corvette’s efficiency is top notch. When equipped with the manual transmission, the Stingray can get an EPA-estimated 17 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. If you use the “Eco” mode, this gives you a boost up to 30 mpg highway.

The interior of the seventh-generation Corvette is much improved over previous years. Everything is designed to be lightweight, yet still be functional and comfortable. The center stack and instrument panel are both driver-focused with a simple layout. Depending on the trim level, the interior can be decked out in leather, suede, and carbon fiber.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Safety

Standard safety features on the Corvette include front and side-impact driver and passenger airbags, a backup camera, daytime running lights, six months of OnStar support, and steering wheel infotainment controls. You can add the optional feature of a heads-up display. Because of its low-volume selling status, it has not been crash-tested by either the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
