2015 GMC Canyon configurator to follow?

The 2015 Chevy Colorado configurator (the “Build Your Own” tool) went live on Chevy’s website today, ahead of the pickup’s fall release. The configurator allows potential customers to customize their trucks before purchase, to get a feel for what they do and do not want and what the final cost could be.

“Our truck lineup is all about giving truck buyers choice,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “With the Build Your Own site, Colorado customers can equip their truck, request a quote from the dealer and even get a price on their trade-in.”

The configurator lets customers determine options such as body style, trim level, color, wheels, and additional options and accessories to be added. The base extended-cab pickup is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, good for 200 hp, and retails for $20,995, destination included. Opting for the 3.6-liter V6, which lays out 305 hp, will add $1,330; the six-speed automatic transmission adds $650.

For now, GM has only launched the 2015 Chevy Colorado configurator, but we anticipate that the 2015 GMC Canyon configurator will be available soon, as the Canyon is the Colorado’s GMC equivalent.
