Last week at the State Fair of Texas, the General unveiled two new models: the 2015 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Z71 editions, which are set to arrive at dealerships this fall. We knew we’d be seeing these models at some point in September, after Chevy accidentally released a batch of photos for the 2015 Tahoe and Suburban that included the Z71 badging.

The 2015 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban Z71 editions are only available on LT models with four-wheel drive, on vehicles that start production in October. Models that start this month also benefit from midway content updates, including OnStar 4G LTE with a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as the hands-free liftgate and wireless phone charging capability.

“The popular Z71 package enhances the capable look and feel of the new 2015 Tahoe and Suburban,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Marketing. “It gives customers another choice when it comes to selecting the full-size Chevrolet SUV that’s perfect for their lifestyle.”

The first Z71 package was made available back in 1988 on Chevy’s full-size pickups.
