Chrysler Group LLC has reported that 2015 Chrysler 200 orders began to flood in—and fast—as soon as the ordering system went live on Thursday, May 8. Reportedly, more than 10,000 2015 Chrysler 200 orders were placed on the very first day. Another 7,000 followed the second day.

In fact, enough orders have been placed already for the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant in Michigan to be at full production capacity through mid-July, yet orders still continue to roll in.

“The Chrysler brand is thrilled to see the level of enthusiasm customers and dealers have shown to order the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200,” said Al Gardner, President and CEO, Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “With a standard nine-speed automatic transmission, a choice of two powertrains with fuel economy ratings of up to 36 miles per gallon (mpg) highway, an available state-of-the art all-wheel drive system, and an interior that will wow drivers and passengers alike, the new Chrysler 200 is raising the bar for what customers should expect from a mid-size sedan.”

The 2015 Chrysler 200 sedan boasts the segment’s very first nine-speed automatic gearbox, as well as 36 mpg on the highway. Drivers will have their choice of either a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 (good for best-in-class 295 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque) or the 2.4-liter MultiAir2 Tigershark I-4 (producing 184 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque.)
