2015 Corvette Z06: TopSpeed’s 2014 Performance Car of the Year
Chevy’s 2015 Corvette Z06 was recently voted TopSpeed’s 2014 Performance Car of the Year. The vote among the editors was almost unanimous, which makes the distinction even more impressive, especially since the Z06 was contending with the likes of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, the BMW i8, and the Chevy Camaro Z/28. This marks the second time that a Corvette has won this honor, as the Corvette Stingray won the award in its first year on the market, just last year.

It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the Z06 is doing so well in the performance arena—the thing shares elements of the C7.R racecar. The Z06 lays out 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque and can sprint from 0 to 60 in just 2.95 seconds. Editors at TopSpeed also praised the styling, especially the interior, which has been upgraded to what feels more like a luxury car.
The Jaguar F-Type R Coupe placed second, with the Challenger SRT Hellcat, i8, and Z/28 taking third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
