Wolf whistle. That is all.

2015 Dodge Challenger

Later this morning, Dodge will unveil the newly-redesigned 2015 Dodge Challenger at the 2014 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). While the muscle car has yet to be revealed officially—fittingly on a day that coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Challenger’s Mustang rival—the photos and specs have been revealed. The early verdict: things are looking good and classic, and we like it.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger takes its retro styling to the next level by drawing further inspiration from the 1971 model. It’ll sport a new grille, a more sculpted hood, split LED taillights trimmed in Gloss Black, and a rear valance panel.

On the inside, the Challenger isn’t terribly different from its 2014 kin, aside from the introduction of a new 7” configurable LCD screen between gauges that is consistent with most of Dodge’s new model lineup. Interior trim is limited to black or gray cloth; black, red, or white leather; or red Alcantara suede.

Performance-wise, the Challenger gets an optional eight-speed TorqueFlight automatic, which can be mated to the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. The R/T trim Challenger gets the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 and all 485 horsepower that comes with it, mated to a standard six-speed manual.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger will have Scat Pack and Shaker models. The former comes with the 6.4-liter HEMI V8, Brembo brakes, and 20” wheels. What’s particularly tantalizing, and suitably retro, is the bumblebee tail stripe that is included with the package, which is consistent with the Super Bee-branded gauge cluster Dodge teased last week.

The Shaker gets either the 6.4-liter or 5.7-liter V8 and comes with the functional hood scoop that made the 2014 Shaker Challenger an almost instant sellout. It comes standard with Super Track Pak suspension, Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, and a unique black graphics package.

The eight announced trims for the 2015 Dodge Challenger: SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, R/T plus, R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, 6.4-liter Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker. As Motor Authority pointed out, there aren’t any supercharged options, which is something of a bummer.
