Ford has revealed the new-look 2015 EcoSport Sat the Geneva Motor Show, and it seems to be missing something. Namely, the spare wheel mounted to the rear, which is one of the more charming features of SUVs that has gone almost totally by the wayside.

We suppose that you could say that the new EcoSport S is all about that treble, no bass, but then you wouldn’t ever want to say that because holy crap so tacky.

Ford EcoSport is already popular with customers in Europe who are looking for a flexible, stylish, and economical compact SUV,” said Joe Bakaj, vice president, Product Development, Ford of Europe. “This range of enhancements—including an EcoSport that is now available without the rear-mounted wheel—makes EcoSport an even more compelling choice as part of our growing SUV range.”

Fortunately, Ford isn’t doing away with that spare wheel altogether–it will remain intact on the regular ol’ EcoSport. Rather, going spare-less is an available option, replacing that wheel with a tire mobility kit to repair flats. Sure, it makes sense, but it’s nowhere near as fun as having a wheel on the butt of your SUV.

Other features for the EcoSport S include improvements the springs, dampers, and rear axle twist beam; upgraded Electronic Stability Control; dimmable instrument cluster with chrome-surround rings; available heated windscreen, mirrors, and seats in an optional “Winter Pack”; optional privacy glass; and an enhanced sound package that reduces noise and vibration in the cabin.

Later in the year, Ford will also introduce satnav and an available Rear View Camera in EcoSport for the first time.

Apart from all of this and some aesthetic enhancements, the EcoSport S is more or less the same as the EcoSport. Yes, this sadly means it’s not coming to America (though there’s still hope for 2017). Let’s all pout together until Ford gives us one, shall we?
