2015 Ford Edge base price stays flat despite upgrades
Update: As it turns out, getting a 2015 Edge with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost is actually going to cost you about $1,000 fewer than the 2014 model. How about that?
Ford wowed a whole lot of folks with the June reveal of the 2015 Edge, which it was not dissuaded from calling “a better vehicle by every measure.” Pricing details for the new and redesigned Edge base model have been released, with the revamped crossover starting at $28,995 with the $895 destination charge included.
So here’s the big picture: for all of the improvements made to the Edge’s structural composition and to its overall aesthetic, the price remains unchanged from the 2014 model. That can only make the 2015 Ford Edge more appealing to those looking to get into a new crossover this year.
Of course, this speaks nothing of the price for the Edge Sport—which is the first Ford to include the automaker’s new adaptive steering technology—or the top-of-the-line Platinum trim. Given the year-over-year enhancements, it’s likely that these models will see at least moderate price hikes.
The base 2015 Edge gets a standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo-four. A 3.5-liter V6 is optional at the base level.
It’s expected that Ford will release full pricing information for the Edge later on Wednesday. The Edge is expected to make its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, and it will be hitting the streets sometime in Q1 2015.
