2015 Ford Fusion Overview

Looking for the 2014 Model? 2014 Ford Fusion Model Overview

What’s New for the 2015 Ford Fusion?

The 2015 Ford Fusion gets enhanced all-weather capability with optional all-wheel drive on SE trims.

2015 Ford Fusion Exterior

The 2015 Ford Fusion looks out of place in the midsize four-door sedan market, but only in the best possible way. The Aston Martin-inspired grille, the aggressive headlights, thin taillights, and numerous subtle details make it look like it belongs among upscale European luxury sedans.

2015 Ford Fusion Performance

2015 Ford Fusion performance varies wildly thanks to a large range of powertrain choices. The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 175 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque, but that can be upgraded to either a 1.5-liter turbocharged i-4, a 1.6-liter turbocharged i-4, or a 2.0-liter turbocharged i-4 with performance scaling all the way up to 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. There’s also the Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid that combine the 2.0-liter with a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor and a continuously variable transmission to get better efficiency at a small cost of power.

2015 Ford Fusion Efficiency

The 2015 Ford Fusion base engine gets 22 mpg city/34 mpg highway. The 1.5-liter gets 23/36 without Auto Start-Stop technology and 25/37 with it, the 1.6-liter gets 25/37, the 2.0-liter gets 22/33 with FWD and 22/31 with AWD, the hybrid gets 44/41., and the plug-in hybrid gets 40/mpg (or 95/81 MPGe).

2015 Ford Fusion Overview

The 2015 Ford Fusion uses recyclable or renewable materials for the seat fabric and foam inside hybrid models to further reduce their environmental footprint. Unfortunately, those hybrid models also offer less storage space because of the large battery pack. There’s plenty of room for up to five passengers inside all models, however, and numerous features even before selecting options.

2015 Ford Fusion Safety

The 2015 Ford Fusion comes standard with antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, and tire pressure monitoring system. It received the highest possible five-star Overall Vehicle Score in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program.
