The 2015 GMC Canyon: Sometimes It’s Good to Be Small
The all-new younger sibling to the GMC Sierra trio (1500, 2500, and 3500) is the 2015 GMC Canyon, which broadens the definition of a GMC pickup. Perfect for those drivers who need the capability of a pickup but the fuel economy of something a little smaller, the 2015 GMC Canyon is agile and functional.
“With its smaller size and associated nimble nature, Canyon provides pickup capability and exceptional comfort in an efficient and more manageable package,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing.

The all-new Canyon boasts a turning radius of 41 feet. Electronic power steering allows for easy maneuverability in situations in which larger trucks might struggle. The short-bed crew cab model is just 212.7 inches long, which is a full 17 inches shorter than the Sierra 1500—ideal for those who live in areas with tight parking or a small garage. On top of that, the 2015 GMC Canyon boasts a width of 74.3 inches, five inches narrower than the Sierra and just two inches wider than the GMC Terrain.
“An increasing number of customers don’t need the full capability of a full-size pickup, yet desire the functionality a pickup offers,” said Aldred. “These customers appreciate the smaller size of mid-sized pickups, with their ability to easily fit in a garage, travel downtown areas of big cities, and navigate crowded parking lots. The all-new 2015 GMC Canyon represents the best of both worlds in this sense.”
Look out for the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon when it hits showrooms this autumn.
