2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition
On August 4 of this year, GMC filed a trademark for the term “Sierra Elevation,” so it was only a matter of time before the brand unveiled the 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition. This special edition, not to be confused with the Sierra Carbon Edition, will include content that is available on no other models in the sport truck segment.
Special content for the 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition includes black-painted 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, fog lamps, and premium headlamps with LED lighting. Other features include a 110-volt AC power outlet, a 4.2-inch Intellilink color touchscreen audio system, Bluetooth® phone connectivity, LED cargo box lighting, power mirrors, and remote keyless entry. On top of that, the Sierra Elevation Edition gets the OnStar with 4G LTE that GM has long been touting.
“Much in the same way the Sierra Denali and Sierra HD Denali models raised the standard for premium pickup trucks, the Sierra Elevation Edition will surprise and excite customers shopping for a sport pickup,” promised Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president, Buick and GMC. “With its striking looks, sophisticated connectivity features and legendary capability, the Elevation Edition raises the standard of what a sport pickup truck can be.”
Powered by a 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 good for 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque, the special edition is built on the standard double-cab pickup for the 2015 Sierra 1500. The design includes a body-colored grille surround and color-keyed door handles, front and rear bumpers, mirror caps, and side moldings. All special edition models are available with two- or four-wheel drive.
Drivers can opt for an optional 5.3-liter EcoTec V8.
Pricing has not yet been announced for the 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition, but the model will be shipping to dealerships in the next few months, before the end of the year.
